Strollin' With The Stars!

One of the things we did this year at WorldCon was to help organize morning Strolls that everyone could participate in.

And 187 fans showed up to stroll with us!

The idea emerged from a brainstorming session with [info]frankwu, then with the help of [info]melodican we invited a number of well known Authors, Artists and Editors to join us for the strolls, which were, [info]capybaron observed, similar to the peripatetic schools of the Greek philosophers.

We were joined on the strolls by Lou Anders, David Brin, Paul Cornell, Ellen Datlow, [info]scottedelman , Joe and Gay Haldeman, [info]maryrobinette Kowal, [info]jaylake, John Picacio, Lawrence M. Schoen, Stephen H. Segal and [info]frankwu   .

A BIG THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO PARTICIPATED!!!

I hate to be a stick in the mudd but is there anyway you can turn off auto play?

Other then that nice work on the presentation and photos, looks like I should have been there.

I don't know . . .

. . .how to turn off the scrolling, but here's a link that should get you to the photos: http://s199.photobucket.com/albums/aa228/stu_segal/Denvention3/Strolls/

Thank You

I cross-posted this from my weblog, and somehow dropped Jay's name.

Thanks . . . Stu

Thanks again!

Couldn't have done it without your support. I feel pretty good that so many people turned out, and have commented on it.

Have contacted Anticipation and maybe will do it there - Montreal is a beautiful city for strolling. Some people have suggested that we make it more rigorous, but I think we should stick with the same concept, and try to gear it to people who wouldn't normally exercise (after all, the ones who already do exercise will find the gyms in their hotels, or go walking or jogging, on their own).

I don't go to a lot of Cons, but I do go to WorldCon every year - I will look for you in Montreal!
