Andrei Cherny's book, The Candy Bombers: The Untold Story of the Berlin Airlift and America's Finest Hour tells the story of how a small group of Americans, with few resources and against all expectations, fed half of one of the largest cities in the world by air for more than a year, thereby avoiding World War III, winning the hearts of our defeated enemies, and inspiring people around the world to believe in America's fundamental goodness.

So has Chabon picked up his rocketship yet? (Edit: I didn't make the Hugo ceremony; somehow I was thinking that he wasn't there but I'm realizing now that I have no basis for this...)

He wasn't there (it was accepted by George R.R. Martin), but I'd assume it's already been shipped to him. Given the bulk of this year's design, my impression was that even the winners who were there were going to have the Hugo shipped home as opposed to carrying it back with them.
